Dear Students and Family Members:

Welcome back to the 2021-2022 school year.  I hope that everyone had some time to relax and recharge this summer and are now ready for another school year. 

This year brings some changes to our administrative team as I will be filling the role of Principal of Windham Jr./Sr. High School.  Miss Jessica Horning will take on the Assistant Principal role for 5th-12th grade. Additionally, we have added two Jr. High math teachers, Mr. Apthorpe and Miss Urban as well as an intervention specialist, Mrs. Wilson. Lastly, our building has added an additional school counselor to help support our students.  His name is Mr. Jaramillo.

As we all know, the landscape or our nation is changing rapidly.  As of the moment that I am writing this letter, masks will be optional for all students and teachers in the building.  However, they will be required on all buses at all times.  As a district, we will continue to monitor this situation as it is changing rapidly.  You will be notified if there are any changes to this policy.  

We will continue to communicate with students and families in multiple ways. Please continue to check the school website, establish correspondence with your child’s teachers and sign up for classroom Remind and Google classroom parent access. If you have any questions or concerns about having contact with the school or child’s teacher please contact me.

Junior and Senior High students are able to pick up their schedules early on schedule pick up day-Wednesday, August 11 from 10:00-12:00 in the Hanger.  Students must bring a completed emergency medical form at this time to get their schedule.  Forms are included with this letter.   

The first day of school for all students is Thursday, August 19th.  Pick up and drop off procedures will remain the same as last year with car riders being dropped off and picked up on the west side of the building along South Main Street.  Walkers will enter on this side as well but will exit on the east side in the afternoon.  Bauer Ave will be closed to traffic from 7:00-8:00 and from 2:00-3:00.  The doors open at 7:30 a.m. for students to enter the building.  This is a bit later than usual so please plan accordingly.  Students that are not in their 1st period classroom by 7:48 will be considered tardy.  All students arriving tardy will enter through door #1 (the main office door).  School will continue to end at 2:42.  If you have any questions, please call the main office.  We look forward to working with you this school year.  GO BOMBERS!
