March 2nd has been determined by the National Education Association to be “Read Across America” Day, the largest celebration of reading in the country. Read Across America Day began in 1998 and is celebrated on March 2nd in honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday.
KT students will enjoy a week of celebrating the importance of reading by participating in Read Across America daily themes:
Monday, February 27 - Cat in the Hat Day: Wear your favorite hat.
Tuesday, February 28 - Thing 1 and Thing 2 Tuesday: Grab a friend and dress up as twins.
Wednesday, March 1 - Wacky Wednesday: Wear your clothes backwards, inside out, or mismatched.
Thursday, March 2 - I Can Read With My Eyes Shut Day: Wear a t-shirt that has words (must be school appropriate)
Friday, March 3 - Fox in Socks Friday: Wear crazy socks.
