Junior and Senior High First Annual Academic Banquet

Windham Junior and Senior High students who have made honor roll for three nine weeks and who have had perfect attendance were recognized at the first annual Windham Academic Banquet on Wednesday, May 18th. Academic excellence and increasing student's daily attendance has been a large focus for the junior and senior high schools this year. About 150 guests were in attendance for this event. Students enjoyed a catered meal from Guido's in Ravenna for the first hour. The second hour included remarks from Superintendent Gregg Isler and Board President Melissa Roubic. Senior Brittany Knight then read a poem about Windham, written by Senior Chris Chambers and Junior Alexis Knight. Guest speaker, Bill Amero, closed the banquet with a brief speech about academics, responsibility, and success. Amero advised students to continue on the successful path they have built for themselves and to overcome any obstacle that they may encounter. At the end of his speech, he reassured the students that "Every day is a great day to be a Bomber."It is in hopes that this tradition continues every year, and the amount of guests increases as the school continues to help students realize the importance of their education.
