Bomber Buddies Teaches Important Lessons

Bomber Buddies, a program led by former student Jake Sweet, has been a part of the Junior High the past few years. This program teaches our students important life lessons to help them as they grow into high school students and citizens. On Thursday, January 7th, the our 6th-8th graders took part in a leadership activity called the Marshmallow Challenge. This challenge involved students working together as a team and problem solving. It also taught them the importance of leadership skills amongst all members in the group. Students had to build a tower using tape, yarn, one big marshallow, and spaghetti. The goal was to work together to engineer the highest tower (without it falling over) with the big marshmallow placed on the top. To view the TedEd video explaining the activity, click here.

High school students volunteered during their lunch periods to help Sweet work with the students. Bomber Buddies will meet two times a month (every other Thursday) and explore different concepts each time.
